The ‘Bladelin-ensemble’ is not impeded by a long tradition: the mixed choir started in 1997. Being a somehow unconventional ensemble with more than thirty members, it is open to all good music: well- or unknown, ancient or modern, a cappella and accompanied.
The recent concerts (e.g. Cinquecento, J.S.Bach - 'Jesu Meine Freude', 'Bladelien in Wien', Utopia in Middelburch, Tristis est anima mea … Here you'll find an overview.) attracted attention because of their creative approach, their unconventional presentation and the singing pleasure of the performers. At present, the group is directed by Patrick Beuckels, a famous musician, who has been engaged as permanent conductor.
